WITR FM 89.7 is a student-run college radio station licensed to Henrietta, New York, and owned by the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). Broadcasting on 89.7 FM, the station serves the RIT campus and the greater Rochester community with an eclectic mix of indie rock, alternative, and diverse specialty genres that range from jazz to modern metal. As a non-commercial educational outlet, it provides students with hands-on broadcasting experience while offering listeners a unique “underground” alternative to mainstream commercial radio.
