KXTR-LP is a non-commercial college radio station licensed to Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas. Broadcasting at 100.7 FM, the station serves the city and more than half of Erath County. Known as “The Planet,” it functions as a learning laboratory for students, where DJs of all majors work together to manage the technical, musical, and promotional aspects of a professional broadcast environment.

The station features a distinct dayparting strategy to cater to diverse student tastes. During most hours, the rotation consists of Classic and Modern Rock, while the late-night and overnight blocks shift to Hip-Hop and Rap. In addition to its music blocks, the station airtime includes educational segments and genre-specific specialty programs hosted by faculty and student volunteers.

Tarleton State University holds the rare distinction of being one of only three universities in Texas—alongside the University of Texas at Austin and Texas Tech University—to own and operate two separate radio stations. While KXTR-LP focuses on alternative hits, its sister station, KTRL 90.5 FM, provides an Adult Album Alternative (AAA) format with NPR news and classical music.
