Descripción de KRUA – 88.1 FM The Edge:
Disfruta de lo mejor en música, charlas, noticias y entretenimiento con KRUA – 88.1 FM The Edge, que te ofrece radio de alta calidad desde Alaska. Transmitiendo en FM, Internet y las principales plataformas de streaming.
KRUA 88.1 FM The Edge broadcasts out of the University of Alaska Anchorage, sending a signal from studios on the UAA campus through a transmitter in Eagle River to reach much of Alaska’s South Central region, with an online stream picking up listeners well beyond that. As a non-commercial college station run by student staff and community volunteers, KRUA Radio skips a single fixed format in favor of a packed, ever-shifting lineup: Zabu and the Hip-Hop Review digs into hip-hop culture, Chill Pill offers something more laid-back, and Alaska’bout It leans into local Alaska-specific talk. Anyone who wants to listen live can also catch Edge Essentials for a rotating sampler of the station’s core sound.
That range extends past music into talk and comedy formats too, with shows like The Odyssey: Variety Hour and Junk Mail giving DJs room to experiment outside a traditional playlist. National Arbitron research has shown that KRUA holds listeners for longer stretches than typical commercial stations and skews toward a younger audience, a pattern the station attributes to programming that changes show to show rather than repeating the same rotation. That mix of student-built variety and community volunteer involvement has kept KRUA a distinctive presence on the Anchorage dial.
