KNTU 88.1 FM is a noncommercial, student-operated indie alternative radio station owned by the University of North Texas and licensed to McKinney, Texas, with studios on the UNT campus in Denton. Transmitting from a tower on university-owned land in north Denton, the station’s signal delivers strong coverage across the northern Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex — reaching Denton, McKinney, Frisco, Plano, and well into the heart of DFW. The weekday format revolves around three core programming blocks: the Morning Show from 6 to 10 a.m., a midday Regular Show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the Afternoon Show from 3 to 7 p.m. — all staffed by student DJs who curate a playlist spanning indie rock, alternative, and emerging artists drawn from a broad and eclectic music library.
