KINY Radio is the definitive “Hometown Radio” station serving Juneau, Alaska, and the entire Alaska Panhandle region on both 800 AM and 94.9 FM. The station delivers a Classic Hits music format, featuring popular songs primarily from the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s, while retaining a strong dedication to local service journalism. Listeners rely on the station for up-to-date local and regional coverage through News of the North, in addition to specialized programming such as the Capital Chat local events show. KINY FM also broadcasts the popular, revived community call-in show, Problem Corner, where listeners engage in discussions and buy/sell goods. Furthermore, the station is the broadcast home in Southeast Alaska for professional sports, carrying games for the Seattle Seahawks and Seattle Mariners.

your transmitter in Skagway has been out for months. When it was up it was weak as compared with KHNS.

I’m writing to congratulate KINY in bringing back Problem Corner. The discussion today (8/5/25) re: unhoused Juneau community members and ideas on treating everyone with more compassion was uplifting and hopeful. I lived in Juneau for 6 years and listened/engaged with PC daily. I’m now in NM (10 yrs.) and missed the program when it was taken off the air. PC is unique to SE AK and is such a valuable asset. Although I would enjoy having a program such as this in my community, it won’t happen. So happy to have access via the Internet. Continue providing excellent programming. I’ll be listening.
