KPUG Radio on 1170 AM is a sports radio station licensed to Bellingham, Washington, serving Whatcom County and the greater Northwest Washington region as the area’s premier destination for local and national sports coverage. KPUG’s signal reaches into Vancouver and Victoria in Canada and also extends into Seattle’s northern suburbs during daytime hours and across the Olympic Peninsula — an impressive footprint that makes it one of the most far-reaching sports radio signals in the Pacific Northwest. The station is also heard on FM translator 97.9 FM in Bellingham, and streams online at kpug1170.com via the free MyBellinghamNow app for iOS and Android. Owned and operated by Saga Communications through its Cascade Radio Group, KPUG carries affiliations with ESPN Radio, Fox Sports Radio, Infinity Sports Network, and Westwood One, and serves as the official radio home of the Seattle Seahawks, Seattle Mariners, Seattle Kraken, and University of Washington Huskies football and basketball in Northwest Washington.

The majority of local sports taking place in and around Whatcom County are broadcast on KPUG, making it the undisputed hub of community athletics from the high school level all the way up to professional sports. KPUG continues its long tradition of commitment to local sports with Whatcom County High School football, basketball, and baseball broadcasts on the air, a community-first tradition that has defined the station’s identity for decades. Afternoon drive time belongs to The Zone, now hosted by Allan Fee, airing weekdays from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, featuring in-depth discussion, interviews, and everything related to Northwest sports, both local and national. Alongside Fee, broadcaster Rick Todd is also part of the KPUG on-air lineup, further reinforcing the station’s deep bench of local sports voices that Whatcom County listeners have come to trust.
